Archived whale tracks: Movebank
The Azores Great Whales Satellite Telemetry Program was established in 2008, focusing on several of the large whale species in the Azores: Blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus), Fin whale (Balaenoptera physalus), Sei whale (Balaenoptera borealis).
The tracking data from tagged whales is uploaded several times a day to the online database Movebank. Anyone can follow the movements of the tagged whales in near-real time using that resource, and consult archived data from tags that are no longer active.
